This week John and Wendy from GabberJaW host the show.  We are the stunt drivers filling in for Michael and Marjorie while they are taking a little vacation.  In their absence, we take over and say “pooh-pooh” on all the Brent sob stories of last week.  He was a freak and needed to go.  (Giving us power is a dangerous thing!!  Muh-hah-ha!!)

We discuss the quickest task we’ve ever seen on The Apprentice.  The teams had only about 3 hours to conceptualize and fully produce a 30 second commercial for Norwegian Cruise Lines, specifically focusing on the fact that this cruise line provides a “freestyle” cruise, where there were no forced schedules and guests could make their own timetables.  Donald said the most original commercial would be the winner. 

Gold Rush used a theme where a shipwrecked passanger found his way to the cruise ship and the wonderful amenities were awesome.  Lots of text on the screen, no voice over, and dumb idea to use the concept of a SHIPWRECK for a cruise line.  Synergy showed a few seconds of a boring cruise then exploded with a great burst of liveliness and color, contrasting the other cruise lines with NCL.  Synergy blew Gold Rush out of the proverbial ocean.  Dan ships out.  (OK - no more puns…unless they are really punny, er - i mean FUNNY.)

You knew it was going to happen…. The pettiness and “group think” won out and Brent was sent packing.  We are disappointed with the Synergy team members and even you, Mr. Trump.

Tonight we talk about the Post Cereal challenge to design a billboard to promote Post’s new cereal Grapenuts Trailmix Crunch.  Did anyone else wonder why the teams didn’t talk to anyone at Post to learn the new cereal’s target market?  Synergy’s idea is “Blah, blah, blah, blah (okay, you guys get the idea)….. The next generation”.  Wordy, bad choice of models and poor presentation (the task was a billboard NOT a presentation) - Synergy you lose.  Gold Rush’s idea is “It’s that good.”  The Post Executives loved it and Gold Rush wins the opportunity to cook with a top chef.  The Boardroom is pathetic and in the end Brent is out.

Plan a corporate retreat for top GM dealers to introduce the 2007 Chevy Tahoe - will the teams be able to succeed without imploding?  We discuss each team’s strategy and each project manager’s style.  We are both in agreement with Trump that Synergy was the clear winner.  But was a reward of swimming with sharks really a reward???

The drama continues on this week’s episode of The Apprentice.  Synergy Corp is not living up to its name - will Donald let them change it to Drama Corp?  Can teddy bear Brent really be a threat to criminal defense attorney Stacey?  Mike would have liked to call this segment “The bitch and the baby” and Marji would have called it “HR’s nightmare employees”  You let us know what you think…

On this show we talk about the Gillette Fusion challenge and how both teams managed their tasks and their people (or didn’t) and then discuss the action in the boardroom.
